Accessibility

A Better Experience For More People.

Salty Dog is committed to improving the accessibility and usability of our website so more people can explore, learn, and shop with confidence.

Accessibility Commitment Accessible, usable, and always improving.
PerceivableContent should be presented in ways people can perceive, including through text alternatives where appropriate.
OperableNavigation and controls should work with more than one type of input whenever reasonably possible.
UnderstandableContent, labels, and interactions should be clear and predictable.
ImprovingAccessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time project.

Our Commitment

Salty Dog is committed to providing a digital experience that is usable by as many people as reasonably possible. We continue to review and improve our website as our content, products, services, theme, and third-party technology evolve.

Accessibility Practices

As we build and maintain the Salty Dog website, we aim to support accessible experiences through practices such as:

  • Using semantic headings and structured page content where practical.
  • Providing text alternatives for meaningful images when appropriate.
  • Designing visible focus states and keyboard-accessible interactions where supported by the theme and connected apps.
  • Using readable typography, spacing, and sufficient visual distinction between interface elements.
  • Labeling forms and interactive controls in ways intended to make their purpose understandable.
  • Avoiding unnecessary motion and maintaining predictable navigation patterns where possible.

Keyboard Navigation

We aim for core navigation, links, buttons, and other important controls to be usable by keyboard where supported. If you encounter an interaction that cannot be reached or operated without a mouse or touch input, please let us know.

Images, Video + Alternative Text

We aim to provide meaningful alternative text for informative images and to avoid relying on imagery alone to communicate essential information. Decorative images may intentionally use empty alternative text so assistive technology can skip them.

Color, Contrast + Readability

We aim to use readable type sizes, clear spacing, visible focus treatment, and color combinations that support legibility. Because visual needs differ from person to person, we also encourage use of browser zoom, operating-system accessibility settings, and assistive technologies that work best for you.

Forms, Checkout + Account Features

We aim to make forms understandable through clear labels, instructions, and error feedback. Checkout, payments, customer accounts, and some other commerce features may be provided in whole or in part by Shopify or other service providers.

Third-Party Apps + Services

Some website functionality may be provided by third-party applications, embedded tools, payment providers, social platforms, review systems, or other services that we do not fully control. We encourage our vendors to support accessible experiences, and we welcome reports of barriers involving third-party features used on our site.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some pages, older content, newly added features, or third-party components may not yet provide an ideal experience for every user or assistive technology. We treat accessibility as an ongoing process and prioritize issues as they are identified.

Ongoing Improvements

As Salty Dog grows, we plan to continue reviewing templates, navigation, forms, images, content, and connected applications for opportunities to improve accessibility and usability.

Feedback + Assistance

If you have difficulty accessing any part of the site, contact us through our Contact page. When possible, include the page URL, the feature you were trying to use, the assistive technology or browser involved, and a brief description of the issue.

We will make reasonable efforts to understand the issue, provide information in an alternative way when practical, and address barriers that are within our control.
